A Note about Black Gold: After reading many reviews, many become disappointed because the plating fades to silver. 14k black gold is made by advanced electroplating solution of black rhodium with stabilizer is applied to the white gold ring to achieve its dark finish. It is very sensitive to chemicals and black gold rings should be removed when touching: lotion, perfume, hair products, showering, washing hands, etc. That being said, it is the nature of the product. Many companies who manufacture this product offer a lifetime warranty to re-dip the black gold. Over the course of the product lifetime you may need to get this product refinished. Nonetheless, the look it gives is stunning if you are willing to keep up with the care of it.
